Liverpool legend: Philippe Coutinho’s deal ‘best transfer window signing’
Luis Garcia is delighted with Philippe Coutinho's new Liverpool deal
Luis Garcia has labelled Philippe Coutinho’s contract extension at Liverpool as the best signing in this winter’s transfer window.
The Brazilian signed a new long-term deal on Tuesday that will keep the Brazil international at the Merseyside club until 2020.
The 22-year-old has scored 10 goals in 81 appearances for Liverpool since joining from Inter Milan for £8.5m in January 2013.
Coutinho has since established himself in the first-team and become a pivotal part of Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Former Liverpool player Garcia couldn’t hide his delight at Coutinho’s contract extension on Twitter.

The 36-year-old Spaniard played for Liverpool between 2004 and 2007 after Rafael Benitez signed him from Barcelona in a £6m deal.
Garcia scored 30 goals during his time at Anfield and was part of the team that won the Champions League in 2005.
His two crucial winners against Juventus and Chelsea in the quarter-finals and semi-finals helped Liverpool reach the historic final in Istanbul.
After three seasons at the club, the winger returned to Spain where he signed for Atletico Madrid for the second time.
Garcia currently plays for Atletico de Kolkata in the Indian Super League.
