Louis van Gaal: Why I’m sure Angel di Maria will succeed at Man United
Louis van Gaal believes that it won't be long before Angel di Maria settles into life in the Premier League
Louis van Gaal has told Angel di Maria that he must adapt his game to fit the “rhythm” of the Premier League for Manchester United.
The 26-year-old Argentina international made a bright start to his Old Trafford career following his club record £60m transfer from Real Madrid last summer but has faded in recent weeks.
Di Maria, who turns 27 this weekend, has scored four times and made six assists in all competitions for the Red Devils this term but has only netted once in his last 10 games, and that goal came against Yeovil Town more than a month ago.
However, Van Gaal insists that he is certain that the former Real Madrid star will soon get to grips with the rigours of the Premier League.
“Di Maria has to adapt to the English rhythm of the game,” Van Gaal told MUTV on Tuesday afternoon
“That’s a high standard and the big difference with other countries. He shall do that. I’m convinced of it.”
