Man United legend insists that Radamel Falcao will come good
Denis Law is backing Radamel Falcao to impress for Manchester United in the coming months
Denis Law insists that it won’t be long before Radamel Falcao proves himself as a top-class striker at Manchester United.
The Colombia international has failed to produce consistent performances for the Red Devils since his season-long loan move to Old Trafford from Monaco.
Falcao has scored only four goals and made four assists in 16 Premier League games for United so far this season and missed an earlier part of the campaign due to injury.
He played 74 minutes as the Red Devils beat Burnley 3-1 at Old Trafford on Wednesday night to move back into third place in the Premier League table.
However, despite Falcao’s inconsistent form so far this term, Old Trafford icon Law is certain that the 29-year-old will impress in the final few months of the season.
“While Radamel Falcao maybe hasn’t scored as many goals as he would have liked so far, there’s no questioning his pedigree and his ability,” Law told United Review.
“He has been absolutely excellent throughout his career and everyone was looking forward to seeing him play when his arrival was announced.
He’s a goal-scorer, a good player who gets involved, and again he’s needed time to settle in, especially coming back from such a bad injury. But once he starts scoring regularly then you’ll see an even better player.
“As a goal-scorer, you go through spells where everything is going in and other times when nothing will go right for you at all. You miss the target, hit the woodwork or the goalie makes a fabulous save, and it feels like a lot of things are conspiring against you.
“All you can do is keep trying, keep doing what you do best and nobody can ask any more than that. There’s no question about Falcao’s commitment at all; he’s proven that beyond any doubt.”
Manchester United’s next game is a trip to Preston North End in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Monday night.
