Man United transfers: Juan Mata lifts lid on Anderson exit
Juan Mata wishes Anderson good luck ahead of his return to Brazil
Juan Mata has claimed that Manchester United midfielder Anderson has sealed a return to Brazil.
Anderson has regularly been linked with a move away from the club during the transfer window after being out-of-favour under Louis van Gaal this season.
The Brazil international is expected to leave the Red Devils before 23.00 GMT deadline on Monday amid reports that he is close to a switch to Internacional.
United playmaker Mata hinted at his team-mate’s South American return at the end of his blog post on Monday morning.
Mata wrote on his blog: “I want to wish good luck to my friend Anderson, who is back to football in his native Brazil. All the best, my friend.”
Anderson is tipped to sign a five-year deal with the Brazilian Serie A club after reportedly cancelling his contract at United.
Internacional, a club from Anderson’s native Porte Allegre, are yet to agree a deal for the 26-year-old midfielder with more work to do to seal the transfer.
The Brazilian joined United from Porto in 2007 for £20m but has failed to adapt to life in the Premier League where he has made only 70 league starts.
Meanwhile, Red Devils boss Louis Van Gaal has given Anderson just 20 minutes of top-flight football this term.
During his time in Manchester he has won four Premier League titles, the Champions League, two League Cups and the Fifa Club World Cup.
