Man United transfers: Miranda tight-lipped on Atletico Madrid future
Miranda says he is enjoying being an Atletico Madrid player despite reported Manchester United interest
Miranda says he is happy at Atletico Madrid amid reported interest from Manchester United.
The Brazilian centre-half continues to be linked with a move to the Red Devils, despite United signing Marcos Rojo from Sporting Lisbon last summer.
Miranda was a key part of Diego Simeone’s side that won the La Liga crown and finished as Champions League runners-up last season.
The 30-year-old has started 13 of Atletico’s 22 top-flight games, prompting talk of the Red Devils luring the defender to Old Trafford.
However, Miranda, who has a year remaining on his current deal at the Spanish champions, insists he is enjoying life with los Rojiblancos.
Speaking to AS, Miranda said: “My future? All I can say is about the present, which is Atletico. I have a contract here and I am enjoying it.”
The South American centre-half has scored three goals and has made one assist in 23 appearances in all competitions for Atletico this season.
Miranda joined Atletico from Brazilian club Sao Paulo in 2011, scoring eight times in 108 games for the Spanish capital’s second-biggest club.
