Martin Skrtel warns Liverpool about Tottenham’s Harry Kane
Martin Skrtel is wary of the threat posed by Harry Kane ahead of Liverpool's clash with Tottenham
Martin Skrtel has warned his Liverpool team-mates that they will have to be at their best if they want to keep Harry Kane at bay when Tottenham travel to Anfield on Tuesday night.
The Spurs forward has been in sensational form this season and continued to impress at the weekend, when he scored two second-half goals to fire his side to a north London derby victory over Arsenal on Saturday.
The 21-year-old has netted 12 goals and made two assists in 20 Premier League games for Mauricio Pochettino’s men so far this season. He has also scored five Europa League goals this term, taking his tally to 22 for the season.
And Liverpool defender Skrtel is wary of the threat posed by the north London club’s in-form forward.
“He is doing well, scoring goals and we have to look after him,” ESPN quotes Skrtel as saying. “But it is not only him, Tottenham are doing well as a team.
“They are playing much better than they played before so we have to be ready for them. We are just looking at ourselves and to play our game and try to get three points.”
Liverpool have been in impressive form in the Premier League in recent weeks. They are unbeaten in their last eight top-flight games and currently seventh in the table, five points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
