Following Sunday night’s dramatic climax to Super Bowl XLIX, viagogo has seen ticket demand for the International Series of matches at Wembley later this year outstrip 2014 levels by three to one.

Based on initial data, it appears that last night’s epic clash between the Patriots and Seahawks has served to fuel fervour for UK-based NFL fans. Last year’s International Series was viagogo’s fifth most popular sporting event of 2014.

The increased demand for tickets viagogo has already seen this year suggests that the series has grown in stature to become one of the biggest fixtures in the UK sporting calendar and is likely to surpass its position in viagogo’s annual rankings in 2015.

A viagogo spokesperson commented: “The NFL already boasted a passionate fanbase here in the UK but it looks like last night’s incredible victory for Tom Brady’s Patriots is going to galvanise ticket demand, taking it to unprecedented levels on this side of the Atlantic.

“With fans snapping up tickets for the three matches at Wembley on 4 and 25 October and 1 November, it already seems clear that this International Series will be the most popular yet by far.”
