Andre Schurrle posts a farewell message for Chelsea on Instagram

Andre Schurrle has wished Chelsea continued success in an Instagram post following the midfielder’s move to Wolfsburg on deadline day.

The Germany international signed a long-term deal with the Wolves after the Bundesliga side agreed a £23m fee with Chelsea for the playmaker’s services.

Schurrle, who had been previously linked with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur amid growing uncertainty surrounding his Chelsea future, struggled to secure first-team football in recent months.

However, the 24-year-old holds no grudges judging by his parting message dedicated to everyone connected with Chelsea, which he posted on Tuesday afternoon.

Schurrle posted the above photo and the following message: “I want to thank everyone at Chelsea FC for the amazing time I had at this great club!! It’s been a real pleasure to wear this shirt!!

“Thank you so much to all the fans for the great support and love you showed me!! All the best to the team, I hope you can win everything!! Great people!!

“And now I’m looking forward to be successful with my new team and club!!! Can’t wait to play:)) #thankyou @chelseafc”

Schurrle, who suffered with a virus at the start of this season, made just nine starts for Chelsea in all competitions this season but still managed four goals for the Blues.

The Germany star joined Chelsea from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen for £18m back in June 2013, scoring 14 goals for the west London side.
