Serge Gnabry makes his first Arsenal appearance in 11 months
Serge Gnabry says it was an indescribable feeling to make his first Arsenal appearance in 11 months after a prolonged injury lay-off.
The Germany international hasn’t featured for the Gunners since he suffered a long-term knee injury during Arsenal’s Champions League clash against Bayern Munich last season.
However, the 19-year-old forward completed 65 minutes of Arsenal Under-21 side’s 2-1 victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Monday night.
Gnabry couldn’t contain his delight on Instagram following the narrow win as the Gunners youngster reflected on his comeback from injury on the photo-sharing app.
Gnabry wrote: “It’s an indescribable feeling to be back on the pitch after such a long time – and on top of that a victory. That’s fun! #ArsenalU21 #COYG #Arsenal #AFC #Gunners #Gnabry #IamBack”
The Arsenal teenager made 14 appearances for the north London side last season, scoring his first Gunners goal against Swansea City in September 2013.
Gnabry’s impressive form during the 2013/14 campaign earned the midfielder a new five-year Arsenal deal.
Arsene Wenger snapped up Gnabry in a £100,000 deal from Stuttgart in 2010 before the German star completed a move in 2011.
