Theo Walcott reflects on Arsenal's performance
Theo Walcott has spoken of his delight to score in a “five-star” Arsenal performance at The Emirates on Sunday.
The Gunners were emphatic 5-0 winners against Aston Villa on Sunday thanks to goals from Olivier Giroud, Mesut Ozil, Walcott, Santi Cazorla and Hector Bellerin.
The England international has scored in successive games after the 25-year-old forward netted in a 3-2 victory over Brighton in the FA Cup fourth-round last month.
Walcott, who missed most of 2014 due to a long-term knee injury, took to Instagram to reflect on his strike and the north London side’s impressive win.
Walcott wrote: “So happy to grab a goal from a 5 goal & 5 star performance! #afc!”
The former Southampton forward ruptured his cruciate ligaments during a 2-0 victory over Tottenham in the FA Cup last season, ending the England man’s 2013/14 season.
The Arsenal striker could feature against Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham side at White Hart Lane in the north London derby next Sunday.
Walcott has scored 46 goals in 199 Premier League appearances for the Gunners.
