Mario Balotelli promises to do everything to help Steven Gerrard reach the FA Cup final at Wembley
Mario Balotelli took to social media on Saturday night to promise to do everything in his power to help Liverpool reach the FA Cup final at Wembley.
The Italy striker helped Brendan Rodgers’ men come back from a goal down to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park and book their place in the sixth round of the competition.
Balotelli’s low free-kick was parried into the path of Adam Lallana, who fired home in the second half after Daniel Sturridge had equalised for the Reds.
And the striker took to Instagram after the game to promise to help the Reds to reach May’s Wembley final for captain Steven Gerrard, who missed Saturday evening’s game due to injury.
Balotelli posted the picture montage above on his account and wrote: “Ok ok.. Let’s try everything to get @stevengerrard to wembley step by step. Yesssss guys ! Yessss Liverpool!!! Supporters great always.. Especially today. I can smile.”
The FA Cup final would be Gerrard’s last game for Liverpool should they reach the showpiece, with the former England captain set to leave his boyhood club and join LA Galaxy at the end of the season.
