Cesar Azpilicueta reflects on Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in French capital
Cesar Azpilicueta is hoping Chelsea can make home advantage count after a 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash in the French capital.
The Blues appeared to be heading back to west London with a slender 1-0 lead after Branislav Ivanovic scored his third goal in six games in all competitions to break the deadlock in the 36th minute.
However, Arsenal and Liverpool target Edinson Cavani levelled the tie in the 56th minute as the striker managed to get between Gary Cahill and John Terry and head past Thibaut Courtois.
Despite letting a lead slip, Chelsea right-back Azpilicueta, who made a goal-line clearance in Paris, remained in a positive mood after the Blues scored a vital away goal at Parc des Princes.
Azpilicueta wrote the above photo and wrote the following caption: “Difficult game against a tough opponent. We count on you to advance to the next round at the [email protected] #UCL”
Chelsea are looking to win Europe’s premier club competition for the second time after the Blues were memorable winners against Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena in 2012.
The Blues will face the Ligue 1 champions at Stamford Bridge on 11 March.
