Daley Blind says he is ok after suffering a facial injury during Manchester United's 3-1 win
Daley Blind has reassured Manchester United fans he is feeling much better after the Dutch star suffered a facial injury during their 3-1 win against Burnley on Wednesday night.
The Netherlands international suffered the knock following a collision with an opponent, but the 24-year-old attempted to soldier on despite requiring stiches.
However, United manager Louis van Gaal made the decision to replace Blind in the 39th minute, introducing his fellow summer signing Ander Herrera from the bench.
But Blind played down the severity of the injury on Instagram following the result, presumably feeling less groggy following full-time at Old Trafford.
Blind posted the above photo and wrote: “Thanks for all the messages, I feel much better now. Happy with the important 3 points! #MUFC”
The reigning Dutch football of the year has been in excellent form for the Red Devils in recent weeks, scoring a dramatic equaliser to rescue a 1-1 draw at West Ham United last Sunday.
Blind has scored two goals and has made one assist in an injury-hit first season in the Premier League following his £16m move from Eredivisie champions Ajax in the summer.
