Jordan Henderson works on his jab with British boxer Amir Kahn
Jordan Henderson pushed his body to the limit during an exhausting 3-2 win against Tottenham, but the Liverpool was back testing his fitness alongside British boxer Amir Kahn on Wednesday.
The Reds vice-captain has completed more minutes than any other Liverpool player in the Premier League this season, racking up a thoroughly exhausting 2,086 minutes of top-flight action.
Henderson has been a key part of Liverpool’s midfield during their flurry of cup ties over recent weeks, including a win against Bolton Wanderers and a defeat by Chelsea in the League Cup semi-final.
And the England international joked that he drafted in two-time world champion Kahn to scrub on his jab, perhaps after clashing with controversial Chelsea striker Diego Costa at Anfield.
Henderson posted the above photo and wrote: “Really good to meet @amirkingkhan today. Great man and was good to get on the pads with him. Need a few tips after getting myself in a few tiffs!”
Henderson, who is widely tipped to become Liverpool’s new captain at the end of the season when Steven Gerrard leaves Anfield for LA Galaxy, has scored two goals and has made six assists in 20 top-flight games this season.
