Marcos Rojo reflects on his first Manchester United goal
Marcos Rojo couldn’t disguise his delight after the defender opened his Manchester United account in the FA Cup on Tuesday.
The Argentina international scored the home side’s second of the night after Juan Mata broke the deadlock against League Two side Cambridge United.
Rojo, who joined United from Sporting Lisbon in the summer transfer window, guided a header past Cambridge goalkeeper Chris Dunn to all but seal the hosts’ progess.
The United centre-half, who played left wing-back for the cup clash, took to Instagram to revel in his strike and the Manchester club’s cup success.
Rojo posted the above photo and wrote: “Very happy with the victory tonight! Also very happy with my first goal for Manchester United!”
The South American will be desperate to win the FA Cup in his first season in England after Rojo experienced the pain of a World Cup final defeat by Germany last summer.
Rojo has made 12 Premier League appearances for the 20-time English champions following his £16m switch to United from Portuguese top-flight.
