Roberto Soldado says Tottenham Hotspur will miss Aaron Lennon after the midfielder joined Hull City on loan on deadline day.

The England international agreed a temporary move to the Tigers after the winger struggled to earn a starting spot under Mauricio Pochettino this season.

Spurs striker Soldado, who was linked with a return to La Liga but a move never materialised, paid tribute to the new Hull signing on Tuesday morning.

Soldado posted the above photo on Instagram and wrote: “I wish you all the best in your new team!We will miss you a lot!A big huge @aaron7lennon”

The 27-year-old started just three Premier League games this season, making a further six top-flight appearances from the bench.

Lennon has made a further seven appearances in the Europa League and League Cup this term, racking up a total of 518 first-team minutes.

The Hull forward has scored 30 goals in 365 games for Spurs since his £1m switch from Leeds United to White Hart Lane in 2005.
