Roy Hodgson runs the rule over Harry Kane’s Tottenham displays
Roy Hodgson is expecting to include Harry Kane in his next England squad in March
Roy Hodgson says that he is “pretty sure” that Harry Kane will earn his first senior call-up to the England squad for the games against Lithuania and Italy next month.
The Tottenham Hotspur striker has been one of the Premier League’s standout players this season and has scored 23 goals in all competitions for the north London side.
If all goes well and he stays fit I’m pretty sure he’ll be in the next squad
Kane, 21, has never been called up to the senior England side, but the Three Lions boss has confirmed that the forward is set to be included in his plans next month.
Speaking to BBC Sport on Monday night, Hodgson said: “Harry Kane? He is an all-round centre forward, can play right up there against a centre-back, or come off and see a pass.
“He’s got technique, he’s always looking to get on the end of crosses, that header against Arsenal was a really classy header. I thought that was a wonderful.
“If all goes well and he stays fit I’m pretty sure he’ll be in the next squad.”
Kane was named the Premier League player of the month for January after a stellar start to the year for the striker. He scored five goals in January, including two strikes in the thrilling 5-3 win over Chelsea at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham’s next game is a home clash with West Ham United on 22 February.
