Sanchez, Morgan and more: Twitter reacts as Tottenham beat Arsenal

Alexis Sanchez and Piers Morgan both tweet their thoughts as Arsenal are beaten 2-1 by Tottenham at White Hart Lane

Tottenham moved above Arsenal in the Premier League table thanks to a Harry Kane-inspired north London derby victory on Saturday.

Arsenal took the lead in the 11th minute at White Hart Lane as Mesut Ozil finished off a Gunners counter-attack at White Hart Lane.

But Spurs drew level in the second half when Harry Kane tapped home from close range in the 56th minute.

And man-of-the-match Kane then secured the three points with a superb header past David Ospina four minutes from time to hand the home side victory.

Saturday’s game prompted plenty of activity on Twitter – and here are some of our favourite updates.

The injured Alexis Sanchez (@Alexis_Sanchez) wishes his team-mates luck: “Good luck today team! I would love to be there with you!!! Come on!!!”

As does Jack Wilshere (@JackWilshere): “The English boys done it last night….now all we need is the boys in Red to do it at lunch time to make the perfect weekend!!! #ENG #NLIR.”

Celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) is happy with what he’s seen in the first half: “Wenger’s completely changed his tactics in big games. Far less possession now, far better control. I like it. #afc”

But after Kane turns the game on its head, Jermaine Jenas (@jjenas8) insists that Spurs are worthy winners: “Spurs deserve to win this, arsenal have been poor today, we might as well start calling the @BBCMOTD show the @hkane28 show.”

Jody Morris (@morriskid) heaps praise on the man of the moment: “Kane could be the new Sheringham for Spurs.”

Peter Crouch (@petercrouch) chimes in after Kane’s header: “What a header my son !!! #TOTARS”

Mick Quinn (@mickquinn1089) says Spurs are the worthy winners: “Spurs 2-1 Arsenal. Spurs fully deserved the 3 points. Harry Kane, the Dogs Bollocks. #GoonersBackinyourBox.”

Robbie Fowler (@Robbie9Fowler) joins in with praise for Kane: “Superb header to win the game… Getting better every week @hkane28”

And that just leaves Morgan (@piersmorgan) to backtrack emphatically: “I tried to be positive. It’s pointless. #afc #6th #WengerOut”
