Six Nations 2015: England name 33-man squad ahead of Italy game
Stuart Lancaster includes injured centres Brad Barritt and Kyle Eastmond in training squad ahead second round of the championship
Stuart Lancaster has named a 33-man England squad to prepare for their home Six Nations match with Italy at Twickenham on Saturday.
Barely 48 hours after celebrating his side’s superb comeback from 10-0 down to win 21-16 against Wales in Cardiff, the Red Rose are already turning their attention to the Azzurri, who lost 26-3 to Ireland in Rome.
Injured centres Brad Barritt and Kyle Eastmond are expected to be available for selection for the Italy game, while Leicester Tigers duo Geoff Parling and Graham Kitchener are also included.
After being left out of the 23-man squad for the win over Wales, Harlequins scrum-half Danny Care is brought back into the training squad, as are Exeter Chiefs backs Jack Nowell and Henry Slade, and Saracens full-back Alex Goode.
Northampton prop Alex Corbisiero and flanker Calum Clark return also after being released back to their club last week, but there is no place for outside-half Stephen Myler, who was cut ahead of the Wales game, with Sale Sharks’ Danny Cipriani and Slade again able to provide cover for George Ford at 10.
Dave Attwood was missing from the initial squad update released by the Rugby Football Union shortly after 20:00 GMT.
Despite the online version of the news on England’s official website being revised to indicate a 32-man squad, an RFU spokesman confirmed to The Sport Review that the Bath Rugby lock is in the squad.

And Lancaster has been handed a further boost with a handful of high-profile injured players linking up with the England camp to continue their comebacks.
Leicester Tigers centre Manu Tuilagi is the stand-out name in a quartet of crocks invited to rehab at England’s Pennyhill Park base ahead of the second round of the championship.
Northampton Saints forward duo Courtney Lawes and Tom Wood, as well as Bath tighthead prop David Wilson, will also continue their recovery from injury under the England medical team.
