Theo Walcott: My first impressions of new Arsenal signing

Theo Walcott says that he has already been impressed by new Arsenal signing Gabriel Paulista.
The Brazilian centre-half joined the north London side from Villarreal last week and Walcott needed only one training session with the defender to understand his qualities.
Much has been made of Arsenal’s lack of defensive cover this season following injuries to key players, but Arsene Wenger moved to bolster his rearguard with the addition of the 24-year-old.
And England international Walcott is expecting Gabriel to settle quickly into life at the north London club.
“I’ve only trained with him once and he likes to put his foot in, that’s for sure,” Walcott told Arsenal’s website.
“He’s not afraid to do that which is good, especially in the Premier League where you need to get stuck into your tackles.
“He’s very tall – I didn’t realise how tall he was. He’ll only be tested when he plays in the Premier League.
“It will take time coming from a different country to learn the language, the culture, so everyone will be patient with him.
“Players that the boss plucks out seem to be good players so I’m sure he’s going to help us.”
Gabriel is set to be included in Arsenal’s squad for Sunday’s home clash with Aston Villa at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal, who are currently sixth in the table, can move to within 11 points of Premier League leaders Chelsea with victory over the Villains on Sunday.
The Gunners’ next game is the north London derby clash with local rivals Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane next weekend.
