Hugo Lloris The Spurs captain made a great save from a free-kick, however the rebound was tapped in by Basanta. Apart from the goal, had a comfortable evening. 5/10
Kyle Walker England international was a constant threat and combined well with Townsend to dominate down the right in the first half. Not as much of a threat in the second half. 5
Federico Fazio Shaky game and got caught out a few times. 4
Jan Vertonghen Good interception on the half-hour mark to deny Gomez. Better of the two centre-halves and had a good commanding game. 6
Ben Davies Not too much involvement going forward and had a good battle with Salah. 4
Andros Townsend Heavily involved and was a menace down the right with his runs and crosses. Overall, a cracking game before being replaced on 73 minutes. 7
Paulinho Doesn’t start many games but his energy and link-up play was good. 5
Nabil Bentaleb Teenager is going from strength to strength as held his own in the middle of the pitch. 5
Nacer Chadli Played 65 minutes on his return after being a non-starter for seven games. Great opportunities to score on four and 44 minutes. Decent overall. 5
Christian Eriksen The Dane controlled the midfield and was at the centre of all Spurs attacks. He petered out in the second half as Spurs run out of ideas. 5
Roberto Soldado Restored to the starting line-up and rewarded his manager’s faith with a superb right-footed volley from inside the box on five minutes. Gave careless free-kick away which resulted in the Fiorentina goal. 5

Jose Maria Basanta Gave his team hope with the equaliser. A simple tap in from close range. 4
Joaquin Not influential at all in the game. Game went pass him and rarely created any chances. 4
Matias Fernandez Kept busy and will be happy to be still in the tie. 4
Borja Valero Not much quality going forward. Very busy looking after the Spurs midfield. Happy to get a breather when replaced 78 minutes. 4
Manuel Pasqual Left-back given a torrid time in the first half by Townsend and Walker. Has a better second half and substituted on 65 minutes. 4
Mohamed Salah On loan from Chelsea, he had a good opportunity to silence the White Hart Lane crowd in the first half but was blocked. Was involved more in the second half. 6
Mario Gomez Former Bayern Munich striker didn’t have much influence in the game. Drifted in and out of the game and rarely had any opportunities to trouble the Spurs keeper. 4
