Tottenham 2 Arsenal 1: I won’t sleep tonight, admits Harry Kane
Harry Kane reveals his delight at helping Tottenham Hotspur beat local rivals Arsenal at White Hart Lane
Harry Kane saluted Tottenham’s home support after he inspired Spurs to a dramatic 2-1 comeback win over local rivals Arsenal on Saturday.
The Gunners took the lead in the 11th minute at White Hart Lane as Mesut Ozil finished off an Arsenal counter-attack.
But Spurs drew level in the second half when Kane tapped home from close range in the 56th minute.
And man-of-the-match Kane then secured the three points with a superb header past David Ospina four minutes from time to hand the home side victory in a pulsating north London derby.
“The fans were incredible, the atmosphere was like lightning and I will remember this for the rest of my career,” Kane told BT Sport.
“My first north London derby, and to win the way we did by digging deep, it’s incredible. I probably won’t sleep tonight.”
The win moved Spurs above Arsenal in the Premier League table, with Mauricio Pochettino’s men now occupying fourth place.
The Gunners, meanwhile, dropped down to sixth place in the table but still only a point behind their local rivals.
Tottenham’s next game is a trip to Liverpool in the Premier League on Tuesday night.
