Tottenham’s Harry Kane can improve more, says Mauricio Pochettino
Mauricio Pochettino hails Harry Kane's 'amazing performance' in north London derby
Mauricio Pochettino warned Tottenham Hotspur’s top-four rivals that there is more to come from Harry Kane after the striker inspired Spurs to a 2-1 win against Arsenal.
The England Under-21 international cancelled out Mesut Ozil’s first-half opener at White Hart Lane after the Spurs talisman beat Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina from close range.
We have ideas to help his improvement and to develop his potential
Spurs had 55 per cent possession in the north London derby, and the home side were rewarded for their performance when Kane arrowed a clinical 86th-minute header into the away net.
While Pochettino was delighted with Kane’s impressive display against their bitter rivals, the Spurs manager stressed that youth product still has plenty of room for improvement.
“I think today showed his quality,” Pochettino told BT Sport.
“His potential is massive. He can improve more. We have ideas to help his improvement and to develop his potential. He was amazing.”
Kane has scored 20 goals and has made two assists in 32 appearances in all competitions this season.
The 21-year-old was rewarded for his fine form last week after the Chingford-born forward signed a new five-and-a-half year deal despite penning a contract at the start of the campaign.
