Van Gaal delivers latest Man United injury update ahead of West Ham trip
Michael Carrick is Manchester United's only absentee heading into Sunday's clash with West Ham United
Michael Carrick is Manchester United’s only injury concern ahead of their trip to West Ham United on Sunday afternoon, Louis van Gaal has confirmed.
The England international suffered a calf injury in training last week and was ruled out for around a month by Van Gaal.
And speaking at his pre-match news conference on Friday afternoon, the Dutchman confirmed that Carrick is United’s only absentee ahead of this weekend’s clash in east London.
Van Gaal’s United side are currently third in the Premier League table and 10 points behind leaders Chelsea.
It shall not be easy, but we want to continue. We have to win in London

And the Manchester United boss is keen for his side, who are unbeaten in their last three top-flight away games, to continue their recent good from by beating the Hammers this weekend.
“I said that at the beginning of the week before the game against Leicester City, that this is an important week and we have to win all three matches,” Van Gaal told reporters.
“After we beat Leicester we were third in the league. After that, we beat Cambridge and we are in the next round of the FA Cup.
“Now, we have to continue and all of the players know that it’s true, but it’s not so easy because we have to play away in London against West Ham and it was a tough game in Manchester.
“It shall not be easy, but we want to continue. We have to win in London.”
West Ham United’s last win over Manchester United came back in December 2007. United are unbeaten in their last 12 Premier League games against the east London side.
