Mikel Arteta is determined to be back in action for Arsenal 'ASAP'

Mikel Arteta has taken to social media to reveal that the Arsenal captain is closing in on a comeback from his ankle injury.

The Spanish midfielder has been missing since late November after suffering the problem during the 2-0 in over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League group stage.

However, Arteta is now edging ever closer to a return to action and took to Twitter on Friday evening to reveal that he is feeling good in his recovery.

The former Everton man posted the video clip above of his intense rehab session in the gym and wrote: “Rehab going great. Getting strong to be back asap!”

The 32-year-old has made seven Premier League appearances this season, notching up one assist. He also scored one goal in three games during the Champions League group stage.

Arsenal, currently fifth in the table, travel to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon looking to keep their bid for a top-four finish on track.
