Watch Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli show off his shooting skills

Mario Balotelli can't hit a barn door on the pitch, but can smash a plastic bottle off it

Mario Balotelli has sent a timely reminder to Brendan Rodgers of his shooting ability after showing off his skills on Instagram.

The Italy international hasn’t started a game for the Reds since a 2-1 defeat by Chelsea at Anfield in November, failing to even make the bench for Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Leicester City at Anfield last Saturday.

While Balotelli is strugging to find the back of the net on the pitch when handed rare cameo appearances, the 24-year-old had no trouble hitting a plastic bottle in a short video that the striker posted on the photo-sharing app.

Balotelli posted the above video and wrote the following caption: “Lol crazy easy.”

Former Manchester City striker Balotelli has scored two goals in 18 appearances in all competitions this season for Liverpool after his £16m move from AC Milan in August.

Balotelli was criticised for a disappointing display after he came on as a second-half substitute in Liverpool’s 1-0 loss to Chelsea in the League Cup last week.
