Watch PSG star predict Chelsea will thrash his side 4-0

Marco Verratti has predicted that Chelsea will thrash Paris Saint-Germain 4-0 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday night.

The Blues head to Parc des Princes looking to take a step closer to booking their place in the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition.

However, PSG midfielder Verratti is clearly not feeling very optimistic about his side’s chances of reaching the last eight.

Asked who would win on Tuesday by Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas in a new video for PUMA Football, Verratti said: “Chelsea. I think they’ll beat us 4-0!

“We Italians are very superstitious so before the game we prefer to predict that the opponents will win.”

Chelsea are looking to reach a fourth Champions League quarter-final in five years, and a seventh in the last nine campaigns.

The west Londoners won their group for the ninth time in their last 12 campaigns, finishing as runners-up twice more in that period.

Fabregas, out since 27 January with a hamstring injury, returned as a substitute in the 1-0 Premier League win over Everton on 11 February.
