West Ham 1 Man United 1: We’re not happy with a draw, admits Daley Blind
Daley Blind says Manchester United dropped two points after 1-1 draw with West Ham United
Daley Blind insisted that Manchester United were not satisfied with just a point after his late equaliser earned the Red Devils a 1-1 draw at West Ham United.
Cheikhou Kouyate’s sublime volley in the 49th minute put the home side ahead at Upton Park as Sam Allardyce’s men looked to be heading towards a famous victory.
However, Blind’s 93rd-minute volley earned Louis van Gaal’s men a draw after an entertaining Premier League game in east London.
The Dutchman was pleased with United’s fighting spirit but insisted that he saw the result as two points dropped rather than one gained.
“The first half was a battle and we couldn’t play the ball how we wanted,” said Blind, speaking to Sky Sports after the game.
“We started the second half well then their goal came and then we had to fight again for the good moments.
“We showed we can fight but we are not happy with the draw.”
The draw left United, who had Luke Shaw sent off late on for a second booking, fourth in the Premier League table and 12 points behind leaders Chelsea after 24 games.
The Red Devils’ next game is a home clash with Burnley at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
