West Ham out to cause Man United problems, warns Sam Allardyce

Sam Allardyce warns Manchester United that he will be setting his West Ham side up to cause them problems

Sam Allardyce has warned Manchester United that he will be setting his West Ham team up to cause Louis van Gaal’s side “problems” on Sunday.

The Hammers host the Red Devils at Upton Park looking to bounce back from their defeat by Liverpool last month.

United are currently third in the Premier League table and 10 points behind leaders Chelsea after 23 games.

But Allardyce’s West Ham are only seven points adrift of Van Gaal’s men heading into this weekend’s clash in east London.

And the Hammers boss is confident that his side are capable of causing an upset on home soil.

“Man United have had some very good results recently and the beauty of them is the goalscoring ability in their squad,” Allardyce told a news conference on Friday morning.

“Our aim is to limit that as much as possible. We need to be tactically astute and try to cause them a few problems.”

United, who reached the fifth round of the FA Cup in midweek, have only lost one game in their last 13 Premier League outings but have also only won three of their last seven top-flight matches.

West Ham, meanwhile, have won four of their last 10 games and have scored an impressive 35 goals this season.
