Sam Allardyce believes West Ham United can exploit a few of Arsenal’s weaknesses at The Emirates on Saturday.

The Hammers make the short trip to north London bereft of confidence after a seven-game winless run in the Premier League, including defeats by Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion.

It is down to how well we perform on the day

Arsenal, meanwhile, are fresh from a first victory at Old Trafford since 2006 and the Gunners have won their last six home games in the Premier League ahead of the weekend’s London derby.

However, Hammers boss Allardyce believes his side can spring a surprise on Arsene Wenger’s side if West Ham can raise their performance level.

“Facing Arsenal is more difficult at their own place,” Allardyce told his pre-match media conference on Thursday morning.

“On the day at our ground there was not much between the two teams. They have a few weaknesses but if we can expose them and take our chances. It is down to how well we perform on the day.

“They have adapted to change the way they play to win football matches. We must take our chances and defend strongly.

“Our lack of goalscoring power is a worry. Not having alternatives to use is concerning going into the last ten games.”

The Hammers suffered a 2-1 defeat by the Gunners at Upton Park in December after Santi Cazorla and Danny Welbeck scored for the visitors.
