Arsenal legend tells Arsene Wenger to sign Liverpool star

Ian Wright wants Arsene Wenger to try and tempt Raheem Sterling to Arsenal this summer

Ian Wright has told Arsene Wenger to try and bring Raheem Sterling to Arsenal this summer as the England starlet continues to stall on a new contract at Liverpool.

The 20-year-old’s future has become a source of relentless speculation in recent weeks amid reports that Liverpool have had their latest offer of a new deal turned down by the winger.

Sterling, who has been linked with a transfer to Real Madrid in the past and whose Reds contract expires in June 2017, is reported to be holding out for an increased wage packet.

Reports in the British media on Monday morning claimed that Arsenal boss Wenger is keeping a close eye on Sterling’s situation at Anfield with a view to a potential summer bid for the player.

And former Arsenal striker Wright took to social media on Monday to urge Wenger to make a bid for the Liverpool star.

Wright wrote on Twitter: “Come on arsene! Go in and get “Raheem the dream Sterling” from Liverpool and play him where he wants!”
