Arsenal transfers: Charles Aranguiz talks up Gunners move

Charles Aranguiz admits that he is flattered to hear reports linking him with a summer transfer to Arsenal

Charles Aranguiz has fuelled the speculation linking him with a summer transfer to Arsenal by admitting that it would be a “dream” to play for the Gunners.

The Internacional midfielder has been touted as a potential target for the north London club in recent weeks, with Arsene Wenger reportedly having ordered Gunners scouts to watch the 25-year-old in action.

Aranguiz, who was in action for Chile against Brazil in Sunday’s friendly, is believed to be rated at around £5m by his club, and now the player himself admits that he has been flattered to learn of Arsenal’s reported interest in signing him.

“They [Arsenal] are a great team, and it would be a dream but for now that’s all it is, a dream,” Aranguiz is quoted as saying by Goal.

“I don’t know anything about it. I’ve heard about it through the press but nobody has talked to me.”

Aranguiz has scored six goals and made three assists in 23 league games for Internacional this season.
