Arsenal transfers: Mourinho would block Cech move, claims Blues legend
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho won't allow Petr Cech to join Arsenal, according to Mark Bosnich
Jose Mourinho will block Chelsea number two Petr Cech’s potential move to Arsenal in the summer, according to Mark Bosnich.
The Czech Republic international has been limited to one Premier League appearance this term after Thibaut Courtois returned from a three-year loan spell at La Liga champions Atletico Madrid and forced Cech down the pecking order.
Unsurprisingly considering the shot stopper’s wealth of experience, the 32-year-old has been linked with a host of Europe’s top clubs, including Premier League rivals Arsenal and their Champions League conquerors Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Australian Bosnich, who played for Aston Villa, Chelsea and Manchester United during his playing career, doubts Mourinho would let Cech move across London and strengthen Arsenal’s Premier League title chances next season.
“You don’t win anything without a great goalkeeper and that will be in the back of Arsene Wenger’s mind,” Bosnich told talkSPORT.
“But I don’t think he [Mourinho] would sell him to Arsenal because I think that would really tip the scales towards Arsenal.”
Cech has made 484 appearances for the west London since since he moved to Chelsea in a £7m move from Rennes in 2004.
The Czech goalkeeper has won 12 major trophies during his Stamford Bridge career, including three Premier League titles and the Champions League.
