Jamie Carragher jokingly called on Stuart Lancaster to get Harry Kane to Twickenham to help England over the Six Nations line after the Tottenham striker scored a hat-trick in a 4-3 victory over Leicester City.

Leicester pegged back Spurs thank to goals from Jamie Vardy and West Morgan after Kane’s first-half brace, before the Spurs striker edged his side in front again from the penalty spot before on own goal sealed three points for the hosts despite David Nugent’s late strike.

Here is the best of the Twitter love-in for Kane from the professionals, past and present, in chronological order on Saturday afternoon.

Tottenham legend Gary Lineker(@GaryLineker) points out that Kane’s recent England call-up clearly hasn’t gone to the in-form striker’s head: “Seems the England call up for @hkane28 has proved too much for him. It took him more than 5 minutes to score against Leicester.”

Former Middlesbrough midfielder Jan Aage Fjortoft (@JanAageFjortoft) jokes that there is nothing Kane can’t do after his second goal at White Hart Lane: “Harry Kane could make Peace in the Middle East. He would find Elvis alive. He would sort out the finances in Greece. What a season!”

Ex-Tottenham chairman Lord Sugar (@Lord_Sugar) doesn’t believe Danny Rose and Kyle Walker are up to standard: “Our full backs Rose and Walker are weak .Rose being outplayed by Nuggent”

Lineker (@GaryLineker) is suffering from mixed emotions as his boyhood club Leicester make it 2-2 at White Hart Lane: “Blimey! Leicester have come from 2 down to level matters at Spurs.”

Republic of Ireland international Sean St Ledger (@seanstledger12) is hoping Kasper Schmeichel can keep out Kane: “Cmon Kasper!!”

But was the result ever in doubt as Hull City midfielder David Meyler (@DavidMeyler7) praises the Spurs talisman: “Harry Kane is on”

Finally, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) is hoping unstoppable Kane can do a job for the England rugby team, too: “England need to win by 26 points at Twickenham against France shortly, how far is it from WHL? Think Harry Kane will make it??”
