Chelsea can’t dwell on their Champions League exit if the Blues are going to win the Premier League title this season, Mark Bosnich has warned.

Jose Mourinho’s side crashed out of Europe’s top tier competition after Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva scored an extra-time header to seal a 2-2 with Chelsea and send the French side through on away goals.

The Blues, who won the League Cup crown last month, are five points clear at the top of the Premier League table ahead of their clash against top-four chasing Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Bosnich said: “When you suffer such a disappointment, in whatever competition, it is so important to bounce back in your next game.

“It is a very fine line between success and failure. There will be a few players feeling sore and mentally a bit tired because they went out to PSG so they have to go out and make a statement to the fans and to the Premier League.”

Gary Cahill appeared to have scored the winner after Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sent off in the first half, however 10-man PSG equalised through former Chelsea defender David Luiz.

Blues forward Eden Hazard restored the home side’s lead in the sixth minute of extra-time from the penalty spot before Silva scored a dramatic equaliser to seal PSG’s passage on away goals.
