The France international has been linked with a big-money move away from Juventus in recent weeks after a series of impressive displays for the Bianconeri.
Both Manchester United and Chelsea have been touted as potential Premier League destinations for the 22-year-old midfielder should he indeed opt to quit the Serie A side at the end of the season.
However, Mourinho insisted that he is not considering bolstering his midfielder options this summer, instead promising that he is planning to give 19-year-old Ruben Loftus-Cheek a sustained run in the Blues’ first team.
“I don’t speak about Pogba or other players,” Mourinho told a news conference at Chelsea’s training ground on Friday afternoon.
“The only thing I can tell you is that we look to our midfield players and between Cesc Fabregas, Nemanja Matic, Ramires, Ruben, John Obi Mikel we have a good group and I believe a lot in Ruben.
“I repeat: next season, the squad will be made in a way where Ruben is a not a number but a player to compete for a position.”
Chelsea are gearing up Sunday’s Premier League trip to Hull City as they look to take a step closer to the Premier League title. Mourinho’s men are currently six points clear at the top of the table.
