Francis Coquelin believes that Santi Cazorla does not get the credit he deserves at Arsenal.

The Spanish midfielder has been one of the Gunners’ standout performers this season, scoring seven goals and making seven assists in 28 Premier League games for the north London side.

Frenchman Coquelin has played alongside Cazorla in Arsenal’s midfield this term and has been thoroughly impressed by what he has seen from the 30-year-old playmaker in recent month.

“At Arsenal, Cazorla. On a technical level, he is above and beyond,” Coquelin is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.

“He has been here for three years, and I still don’t know if he is right-footed or left-footed.”

Both Coquelin and Cazorla are gearing up for Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Monaco on Tuesday night as the Gunners bid to reach the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition.

The north London side face an uphill task after their surprise 3-1 loss to the Ligue 1 side in last month’s first leg at Emirates Stadium.

Coquelin has made 14 Premier League appearances for Arsenal so far this season and played 68 minutes in the loss to Monaco.
