Liverpool defender Jose Enrique brands Reds youngster Raheem Sterling the worst ping-pong player in history

As the undisputed ping-pong champion at Melwood, Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has some standing when it comes to judging his team-mates’ ability, or lack of it.

The 29-year-old Spanish defender has regularly managed to get the better of his young compatriots Alberto Moreno and Javi Manquillo over the course of the current campaign, keeping us updated with a series of Instagram posts.

However, neither of the Liverpool full-backs are the recipients of Enrique’s wooden spoon after the defender named England international Raheem Sterling as the worst player in ping-pong history.

Enrique posted the above clip to Instagram and wrote the following caption: “Hahahaha hahahaha . Always losing even against #manquillo that is the worse player of ping pong history @31sterling @amplfc18”

Unsurprisingly, after being the subject of derision from his team-mates and an ear flick from Manquillo, the Liverpool striker walked calmly out of the room.

Sterling can take some solace from the fact that he has developed into a key player at Liverpool over the past year or so, whilst Enrique’s Reds career has stalled due to an unfortunate string of injuries.

The 20-year-old Liverpool forward could line up against Swansea City at Liberty Stadium on Monday night.
