Chelsea won’t be caught in the Premier League title race with Jose Mourinho at the helm, according to Lee Hendrie.

The Blues moved six points clear of second-placed Manchester City after a thrilling 3-2 victory over relegation-threatened Hull City at KC Stadium on Sunday evening.

The Premier League leaders have faltered in recent weeks, though, after surprise draws with Sean Dyche’s Burnley and top-four chasing Southampton at Stamford Bridge.

However, former Aston Villa midfielder Hendrie, who is one of Chillisauce’s legends for their stag weekend five-a-side packages, can’t see Arsenal, Manchester City or Manchester United catching the west Londoners.

“Chelsea are definitely favourites,” Hendrie told The Sport Review.

“I don’t think anyone will catch Chelsea. They’ve got far too much strength and depth. With Manchester City slipping up, they’ve set it up for Chelsea to win.

“Under Jose Mourinho, they’re uncatchable.”

Meanwhile, Hendrie, who 27 goals in 251 Premier League appearances for the Birmingham side before he left Villa Park in 2007, earmarked Diego Costa as a player that he would have enjoyed playing alongside during his career.

“His presence as a centre-forward is great. It is great to see the link-up player, he can hold up the ball and give it back, he is always available in the box to score a goal,” Hendrie added.

Costa has scored 19 goals in 24 Premier League appearances following his £32m move from Atletico Madrid last summer, joining Harry Kane at the top of the division’s goal-scoring charts.
