Eddy Onazi has claimed that up to 10 clubs are interested in his signature amid reports Liverpool want to sign the Lazio striker.

The Nigeria international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months, with Liverpool and West Ham United thought to be among the front-runners for the midfielder’s signature.

The 22-year-old, who moved to the Italian captain in 2011, has made one assists in 14 Serie A appearances this season, racking up just 568 first-team minutes.

Onazi, who has three years remaining on his current Lazio deal, is open to a move to a new European league despite his happiness at Stadio Olimpico.

“I was approached by more than 10 clubs, but I am a Lazio player,” Onazi told World Soccer Magazine.

“I’m still young, I want to grow and play in European competitions. In life you have to take one step at a time.”

The African midfielder has fallen out-of-favour at Lazio in recent months, prompting talk of a move away from the Serie A outfit.
