Luis Suarez says that he would only play for Liverpool if he were to seal a return to the Premier League in the future.

The Uruguay forward was one of the Premier League’s standout performers last season as he helped Liverpool mount a title challenge and was named the PFA player of the year.

Suarez eventually sealed a big-money move to Barcelona from the Merseyside outfit last summer after months of speculation about his future at Anfield.

The striker was back on Merseyside to take part in the Liverpool All-Star charity match on Sunday afternoon.

And when asked whether he could return to the Premier League in the future, the forward refused to rule out a potential move back to Liverpool.

Suarez told Liverpool’s website: “You never know [what will happen] in football, but if in the future I play in England again, I play with the Liverpool shirt on and not another shirt.”

Suarez scored 82 goals in 133 appearances for Liverpool between 2011 and 2014.
