Liverpool can end Manchester United’s top-four bid at Anfield on Sunday, according to Arsenal legend Martin Keown.

Brendan Rodgers’ side can hoist themselves above the Red Devils and into fourth place if Liverpool beat Louis van Gaal’s side on their own turf.

If there are any flaws in United’s performance they will be found out. Liverpool will win this one, for me

United injected life into their bid to secure a return to the Champions League after an emphatic 3-0 win against League Cup finalists Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

However, former Arsenal defender Keown isn’t confident United will end the season in the top four in light of their run of games which includes fixtures against Manchester City, Chelsea and the Gunners.

“The juices will be flowing as Liverpool take on Manchester United,” Keown told Daily Mail.

“They’ve always seen themselves as the two teams who used to run the league, Liverpool in the 80s and United in the 90s. Now they’re in a similar position.

“There’s probably more riding on this game than there has been before. Liverpool have a chance to finish United off, who have a terrible run-in and Louis van Gaal’s men have been unconvincing away from home.

“If there are any flaws in United’s performance they will be found out. Liverpool will win this one, for me.”

Liverpool are the form side in the Premier League after a 13-game unbeaten run in the top flight, including successive clean sheets in their last six away games.

The Reds were 1-0 winners against the 20-time English champions at Anfield last season thanks to Daniel Sturridge’s fourth-minute winner.
