Herrera initially struggled to make an impact for Louis van Gaal’s side following his transfer to Old Trafford from Athletic Bilbao last summer.
However, the midfielder has enjoyed a more regular run in the Red Devils’ first-team in recent weeks and has caught Robson’s eye with his displays.
Herrera won Manchester United’s player of the month award for March and set up Juan Mata’s opening goal against Liverpool last weekend in United’s 2-1 victory at Old Trafford.
And Robson feels that the 25-year-old has been in good form in recent months.
Speaking to United’s website, Robson said: “Ander started off the season well and he’s got a lot of energy.
“He is always on the move, trying to close people down really quickly. He has got a lot of qualities really, it’s just getting them out of him on a consistent basis. But he has got that in his locker, maybe it’s just taken him and a few of the new signings time to adapt to the Premier League.
“He is quite good defensively and, when I watch him, I can see he has a lot of energy and he does like to get involved.
“What I like about him is that, when people are on the ball, he is always on the move to try and receive the pass.”
Herrera has scored five goals in 23 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions this season.
He will be hoping to feature when United hos Aston Villa in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
