The Netherlands international has been heavily linked with a move to the 20-time English champions following the appointment of his former national manager Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old forward is the Eredivise’s top goal-scorer after an impressive campaign so far, scoring 17 goals and making three assists in 27 appearances in the Dutch top-flight.
However, Depay’s agent Kees Ploegsma played down talk of big-money switch to United at the end of the season, reiterating that the Dutch youngster is under contract at the Eredivisie leaders.
“No, there has been a lot of rumors, but he still has a contract with PSV, so for now he is in Eindhoven,” Ploegsma is quoted as saying by The Express.
“We have not been in contact with any clubs. They (Depay and Louis van Gaal) had good contact during the World Cup, but since then there has been no contact.”
Depay became the youngest Dutchman to score a goal at a World Cup after the winger scored against Australia in the group stage.
The PSV youngster, who was named on the three-man shortlist for the World Cup’s best young player award, came off the bench to score against Chile in their final group-stage fixture.
