Juan Mata isn’t fazed by the challenge of facing Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Sunday, insisting that he enjoys playing against Spurs.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men will be looking to emulate their north London rivals Arsenal on Sunday after the Gunners were 2-1 winners in Manchester in the FA Cup quarter-final earlier this week.

Spurs have won their last two Premier League games, whilst the League Cup runners-up are unbeaten in five games against the Red Devils, which includes a 2-1 win at Old Trafford last season.

However, Mata has scored three goals against Spurs since his move to the Premier League in 2012, and the United midfielder is looking forward to the clash against the Lilywhites.

“Hopefully is going to be a good result for us. I enjoy playing against Tottenham because i had some good experiences against them!” Mata wrote during a question and answer session on Facebook.

Mata hasn’t started a game for the 20-time English champions since a 3-0 victory over Cambridge United in their FA Cup fourth-round replay on 3 February.

The 26-year-old, who moved to Old Trafford in a £37.1m deal from Chelsea in 2014, has scored five goals and has made three assists in 23 Premier League appearances under manager Van Gaal this season.
