John Terry took to Instagram to underline his desire to win more silverware at Stamford Bridge after the Chelsea captain signed a new one-year deal on Thursday evening.

The 34-year-old centre-half put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension to ensure Terry extends his Blues career until at least the end of the 2015/16 season.

Terry has been a mainstay of Jose Mourinho’s starting line-up this term despite having several different defensive partners, including Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma.

The Blues captain opted to use photo-sharing app Instagram as a medium to share his delight at his new one-year Chelsea deal, ending speculation surrounding his future.

Terry posted the above photo and wrote on Instagram: “I’m delighted to have extended my Chelsea contract. Hopefully I can add to these trophies this and next season! Big thanks to the Manager, my team mates and fans for their continued support. The Blues defender has scored three goals in 29 Premier League appearances this season.”

Terry won his 13th major honour with Chelsea in March after the centre-half captained the London outfit to a 2-0 victory over rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup final at Wembley.
