Steven Gerrard and John Arne Riise enjoyed many great times together at Anfield, so it is understandable the Norwegian is relishing the prospects of one last hurrah with the Liverpool legend.

The 34-year-old full-back is currently seeing out the autumn of his career at Cypriot side APOEL Nicosia following his move from Championship side Fulham last year.

Riise won the Champions League, Uefa Super Cup, the FA Cup and the League Cup alongside Gerrard during a decorated seven-year stay at the Merseyside outfit.

The former Norway captain is looking forward to a final game with his 34-year-old pal after the Liverpool skipper organised a charity match at Anfield with some Reds greats for 29 March.

Riise posted on Instagram: “Teams are confirmed for the Charity match Playing alongside Captain fantastic @stevengerrard one more time Can’t wait to meet the other amazing players This will be a day to remember, I’m honored”

Gerrard, who hasn’t featured for the Reds since a 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield last month, is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season.
