Mario Balotelli may be sidelined for Liverpool’s clash against Swansea City on Monday night, but the Reds striker is making the most of an evening off after pledging his support for Down’s Syndrome Awareness Week.

The Italy international has flaunted controversy during his two spells in the Premier League, but the 24-year-old has shown his caring side on a number of occasions during his fledging Reds career.

And this evening, Balotelli donned a ‘Keep calm it’s only an extra chromosome’ T-shirt for a photo on Facebook as Down’s Syndrome Awareness Week started on Monday, running until Sunday 22 March.

Balotelli posted the above photo on his Facebook page and wrote the following caption: “Guys, Awareness Week for Down’s Syndrome is here. Let’s ‪#‎getinvolved‬ in ‪#‎WDSD15‬ by liking and sharing the Cheshire Down’s Syndrome Group work and leaving your donation here

The Reds are looking to move to within two points of fourth-placed Manchester United on Monday night as Brendan Rodgers’ men face the Northern Irishman’s former side Swansea City.
