Ander Herrera spoke of his happiness on Instagram on Monday afternoon after the midfielder helped Manchester United win 3-0 against Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.

The Red Devils stormed into a commanding lead inside 19 minutes courtesy of goals from midfielders Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick at Old Trafford.

United captain Wayne Rooney polished off a comfortable win as Tottenham failed to register a shot on target until the closing minutes of Sunday’s encounter.

Herrera, who completed 90 minutes against the north London side, uploaded a photo with goal-scorers Carrick and Rooney to the photo-sharing app.

Herrera posted the above photo and wrote: “Happy for yesterday’s 3 points! Today, an event with @carras16 @waynerooney”

Louis van Gaal’s side are six points clear of sixth-placed Tottenham following their win, whilst the Red Devils can extend their lead over their closest rivals Liverpool with a victory at Anfield next weekend.

However, United suffered a 1-0 defeat on Merseyside last season after Daniel Sturridge scored a fourth-minute winner against the 20-time English champions.
