There was nothing wrong with Wayne Rooney’s finishing on Sunday as he landed the knockout blow against Tottenham, and the Manchester United striker appears to be pretty decent at golf, too.

The England international is showing his versatility across a host of different sports in recent weeks after an impromptu round of boxing with former team-mate Phil Bardsley.

The 29-year-old made the headlines for all the wrong reasons on Sunday morning after being filmed knocked out on the floor of his kitchen last week.

However, Rooney put that particularly controversy to bed with his boxing-themed celebration after the United strike scored the third in a 3-0 win against top-four rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

And on Wednesday, Rooney, who has scored 11 top-flight goals this term, switched his attentions to golf as the five-time Premier League winner tested out his new Nike driver.

Rooney posted the above photo on Instagram, uploading the following caption: “Finally got out for a game of golf today and tested my new @nikegolf driver. Quality!”

Rooney has scored 13 goals in 29 games in all competitions this season, despite being utilised in a midfield role for part of the season by Louis van Gaal.
